‘Markets are going to increase’ – Business News
WASHINGTON — President Trump dismissed a steep stock market plunge Thursday following adoption of his “reciprocal” tariffs — saying he anticipated a reversal of the brutal influence of new charges on most imported items.
“I think it’s going very well,” Trump advised reporters on the White House garden.
“The markets are going to boom, the stocks are going to boom.”

Trump on Wednesday afternoon introduced his sweeping “Liberation Day” levies, together with a 10% tariff on most nations and better charges on some key trading companions, together with a 20% tariff on the 27-nation European Union and 24% on Japan.
The Dow Jones Industrial Average fell more than 3.3% as of mid-afternoon Thursday.
