The Issue: The Post’s editorial calling on President Trump to de-escalate tensions in Minneapolis.

I’m troubled by your editorial about de-escalating tensions in Minneapolis (“De-Escalate Now, Don,” Editorial, Jan. 26).

Should not the emphasis of decreasing the temperature be on the backs of each the governor and the mayor?

When people seek advice from a law-enforcement company composed of American residents as “Nazi” and “Gestapo,” and inform them profanely to go away your metropolis and state, are they not setting the tone of a violent confrontation?

When they inform native police to not be the buffer between the protesters and the federal brokers, isn’t this what approaching chaos appears to be like like?

The bar was set too low and cooperation was contaminated from the outset as a result of of agendas.

Peaceful protests are far much less more likely to provoke a civil battle than a authorities deploying 3,000 armed brokers to an American metropolis who’re prepared to flaunt their absolute immunity round with no finish in sight.

Minneapolis, Minn.

Sorry, however this can be the primary time in more than 60 years I disagree with The Post.

The Democrats and libs misplaced the election in 2024. Their open-border insurance policies have been canceled.

So how can they overcome this?

By beginning riots in Minneapolis, thus inflicting ICE and the Department of Homeland Security to be demonized regardless that they’re doing the work they swore to do.

The radical left is partaking in a sort of manipulation that may have made even Karl Marx blush, and the best editors of this paper can do is accuse the administration of the identical sort of gaslighting the opposite facet is guilty of?

How concerning the white-hot highlight of publicity that readers deserve as a substitute?

It’s long overdue.

Sending Tom Homan to Minnesota is the precise transfer.

Tensions have reached a level the place a balanced method is desperately needed, and he’s the proper selection.

He’s revered on either side of the aisle and has regularly demonstrated a powerful, however honest, method in his years of serving the nation.

Let’s hope he’s in a position to get it carried out.

The Issue: Rep. Ilhan Omar being sprayed with apple cider vinegar at a Minneapolis city corridor.

Shortly after Rep. Ilhan Omar was sprayed with apple cider vinegar at a city corridor, Rep. Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez blamed President Trump (“Don: She probably arranged her assault,” Jan. 29).

The Democrats have a behavior of blaming Trump for the whole lot.

Do you suppose they’d take the blame if somebody attacked or, God forbid, took a shot at Trump now?

Damn proper they wouldn’t.

John Giriat

The Bronx

The Post’s report on Ilhan Omar being sprayed at a Minneapolis city corridor is a reminder that our politics are slipping from argument into intimidation.

Minneapolis is already on edge amid a surge of federal immigration enforcement and two current civilian deaths involving federal brokers.

When anger begins turning bodily — at protests or public conferences — escalation turns into simpler, not tougher.

Today it’s a foul-smelling stunt.

Next time it may very well be really lethal.

Political violence needs to be condemned early and unequivocally, no matter who the goal is.

Jack Bulik

Fresh Meadows

So, Ilhan Omar and the left’s anti-ICE stalwarts are all damaged up and outraged that a civilian had the audacity to violently intrude together with her whereas she was working.

The hypocrisy is breathtaking.
