Bahama Breeze to close all its restaurants – Business News
Darden Restaurants introduced on Tuesday that it will close its Bahama Breeze chain after almost 30 years in operation.
The Orlando-based company mentioned it’ll completely shut down 14 of Bahama Breeze’s 28 restaurants, whereas changing the remaining places into different Darden manufacturers.
Restaurants designated for everlasting closure will proceed working by April 5, Darden mentioned.
The conversion of the remaining 14 places is predicted to take 12 to 18 months.
Those restaurants will proceed working till any momentary closures are required during the conversion course of, the company mentioned.
Darden didn’t specify which manufacturers the Bahama Breeze places shall be transformed into.
The company’s portfolio contains chains similar to Olive Garden, Yard House, Ruth’s Chris Steak House, and Eddie V’s, amongst others.
“The company believes the conversion locations are great sites that will benefit several of the brands in its portfolio,” Darden mentioned in a press release. “Going forward, the primary focus will continue to be on supporting team members, including placing as many as possible in roles within the Darden portfolio.”

The Bahama Breeze places slated for everlasting closure are in Delaware, Georgia, Michigan, New Jersey, North Carolina, Pennsylvania, Virginia, and Washington, Darden mentioned.
Most of the places that shall be transformed into different manufacturers are in Florida, with extra restaurants in Georgia, North Carolina, South Carolina, and Virginia.
Shares of Darden Restaurants are up more than 14% yr to date.
