NASCAR director clarifies policy on driver pit – Sports News
NASCAR Cup Series Managing Director Brad Moran believes it’s ‘not the worst factor on the earth’ to see drivers exhibiting their feelings within the wake of Daniel Suarez and Ross Chastain’s feud.

“If they have a confrontation … that’s one thing but we do got to watch if it gets into a true fight on pit road, I mean we’ve got concrete all around … some of the drivers are quite different in sizes,” defined Moran.
He continued: “You have to be cautious [of fighting], these are professional athletes and we protect our drivers. Every situation is different, you know, the raw emotion, we really don’t want to hold all of that back.
“The drivers have the precise to share their ideas and emotions with one another and in truth, if everyone will get to witness that, I do not assume it is the worst factor that might occur.”
Speaking earlier this week about the incident, Chastain said, “In the second, I positively was scorching and offended and would do issues totally different if I had time to consider it.
“Yeah, definitely would not have swerved into him after the race. I didn’t mean to. I would do that different if I could go back, and then I wouldn’t shove him, for sure.
“I simply was over the dialog that he was making an attempt to have, needed him to go away, requested him to go away, and he did not go away and needed him to back up. Was too close, and simply did not need to hear the rest he was saying as a result of he wasn’t taking any accountability, and I needed him to.”
