“At the end of the day, we’re all humans, and we’re all pretty good dudes, I feel like. So just trying to be better about that, but certainly in the health standpoint, I think it’s a huge wake-up call of just — my wife talks all the time about how ‘you guys just don’t get a break’ — and it’s hard to take a week off.
“But I think we’re all pretty hard-headed in a sense of we don’t want to go to the doctor. I’m guilty of that. Literally this December, I had pneumonia, and I didn’t go to the doctor for a long time, and I finally went and found out I had it.”
He added: “It’s crazy just how fast that stuff can get you, and certainly I think it’s a wake-up call for all of us because it’s so easy to get caught up. I don’t want to spend an hour at the doctor’s office, like I’d rather go home, be with my kids.
“It’s hard just with the schedule we live, but I think it’s certainly a reminder for all of us that if you’re not feeling good, you probably need to go get checked out.”
