Kevin Harvick acknowledged that the premature deaths of Kyle Busch and Dale Earnhardt are “eerily different but similar.”

Richard and Kyle are very similar. They’re both really, really competitive people that just want to win and want to succeed.

“I think for Richard, he’s got to feel like, man, this is happening to us all over again. Trying to get our company back on track and do the things that it takes. And now we have to go and do this all over again.”

Despite the most recent unimaginable tragedy, Harvick expressed utmost confidence that Childress would selflessly battle by means of the ache. “But Richard’s a man,” he declared. “You see him standing next to Samantha and Brexton, supporting them. And as bad as he hurts, he’s gonna put them first.

“That’s who and what Richard Childress is — he’s the guy that’s going to make sure that everybody else is taken care of before he is. And sometimes, you know, that is not the right thing to do. But that’s the way he’s going to do it.”
