Kyle Larson confirms NASCAR switch as new races – Sports News
NASCAR superstar Kyle Larson is embracing the prospect of adding Truck Series races to his schedule as he prepares to make several appearances for Spire Motorsports. The man known to fans as “Yung Money” is a full-time racer for Hendrick Motorsports in the Cup Series.
The 32-year-old is expected to make the switch for the Baptist Health 200 at Homestead-Miami Speedway on March 21, before taking part in the Weather Guard Truck Race on April 11th. The one-time Cup Series victor has competed in the Truck Series previously on 15 occasions – winning three races before today.
Meanwhile, fellow Cup Series stalwart William Byron will also be making the switch to taking part in the Truck Series over the next month. He will share the duties with Larson in terms of getting behind the wheel of the No. 07 Chevy Silverado, with his sole outing set to come at Martinsville (Va.) Speedway on March 28.
When it comes to Larson, there is no doubting his enthusiasm as he looks forward to the prospect of taking part in Truck races for the first time since 2023. That time, the superstar put in a memorable showing at North Wilkesboro for Spire Motorsports as he came away with the victory.
Speaking excitedly ahead of his return after two years away, he said in an official statement: “I love racing at Homestead-Miami and Bristol, so I’m excited to add those Truck races to my schedule. Hopefully, we can put on a great show with HendrickCars.com on board and battle for the victories in the Spire truck.”
“I’m excited to get back to the Truck Series,” he professed, “It’s been a couple years for me, so I’m ready to try it again. Plus, the last time I ran a truck at Martinsville, we won.”
The household name added: “Hopefully, we can do that again because it really paid off for us on the Cup side of things. Spire is a great group, and I’m excited to work with them again.”
