Serena Williams expressed her enthusiastic support for Meghan Markle as the Duchess of Sussex premiered her new Netflix series, ‘With Love, Meghan’.

The show offers an intimate look into Markle’s life, showcasing her interests in gardening and cooking. Markle, who gained fame for her role in the American legal drama Suits, stepped away from acting in 2018 to pursue her relationship with Prince Harry.

The couple has since married and welcomed two children, Archie and Lilibet, and previously starred in the Netflix series ‘Harry and Meghan’. To celebrate the March 4 premiere of Markle’s latest show, close friend Serena Williams took to social media, urging her followers to watch the series.

The 23-time Grand Slam champion posted on Instagram: “I’m so excited for you to check out “WITH LOVE, MEGHAN” now streaming exclusively on Netflix! Join my wonderful friend @meghan, the Duchess of Sussex, as she opens up her world and shares her personal tips for the kitchen, garden, and so much more.

“It’s a fun and inspiring series that reminds us all how easy it is to bring a little beauty into our everyday lives, even when we least expect it. Can’t wait for you to experience it!”

Williams and Markle have been tight-knit since 2014, having first crossed paths at the Super Bowl in 2010 and reconnecting four years later. The Duchess of Sussex reminisced about her bond with Serena on her now-defunct blog, ‘The Tig’, in 2014, sharing her initial encounter.

At that time, Markle wrote: “When Serena Williams barrelled in my direction this past February at an event, nails done, hair done, everything did, I’ll be honest and say I looked behind me to see who she was running to. It was Serena Williams, after all.

Since that moment, they’ve remained each other’s steadfast allies, particularly during significant life events like when Williams welcomed her first child.

Meghan expressed her joy for Serena’s pregnancy to Vogue in 2017, saying: “She will be an amazing mom. The very best, because she is so attuned to balancing strength and sensitivity.”

During a period of intense media scrutiny for Meghan and Prince Harry, Serena Williams stood strong for her friend. In an interview with Vanity Fair, she advised: “I told her, ‘You’ve got to be who you are, Meghan. You can’t hide.”

Serena was present at the Royal couple’s 2018 wedding and has seen them cheering from the stands at events like the US Open.
