Kyle Larson revealed that his kids maintain the keys to his NASCAR future past the age of 40.
Speaking to Motorsport.com’s Matt Weaver, Larson — who not too long ago expressed satisfaction for his son, Owen — disclosed that he’ll select if he needs to proceed racing in seven years. According to the NASCAR Cup Series star, the choice finally comes down to what his three youngsters, Owen, Audrey, and Cooper, are doing at that time of their lives.
“I started saying this last year, but 40 is my next milestone,” Larson, 33, stated. “I want to get there and then evaluate if I want to keep going or be done. It all depends on where my kids are in their lives and interests.”

“I just don’t know what a championship would add to my career so I’m just not into the idea now. And like I said, I think my kids are going to be busy doing their own racing by that time, so do I really want to commit to an 80-to-90 race schedule? That’s way busier than I am now.”
While Larson acknowledged that his emotions might change over the subsequent half-decade, he insisted that his kids’s pursuits and schedules will take priority.
“I just feel like I have a really good balance in my schedule this year and I’m enjoying that,” he added. “But you never know, and six or seven years down the road, things might change.”
