The California Supreme Court is already stacked with Newsom appointees. Newsom appointed Chief Justice Patricia Guerrero and Associate Justice Kelli M. Evans (each Democrats). Both Associate Justice Martin Jenkins and Associate Justice Kelli Evans labored in Newsom’s administration.
