Just if you assume you have got lived long enough to have seen and heard all of it, you learn that a Mount Vernon deputy police commissioner drove a getaway car for her son’s gang taking pictures — with the help from her ex-con husband, no much less (“Police brass ‘crime’ family,” Aug. 5).
To say it’s getting crazier and crazier out there may be the understatement of the 12 months. Has everybody in Mount Vernon gone completely out of their minds?

Sticker shock
Here we’re again: warning stickers on vehicles redux (“ ‘Sticking’ it to cars,” Aug. 5).
Under Mayor Michael Bloomberg, the City Council rightly halted the follow as pointless public shaming and property vandalism. Now, Mayor Mamdani has let it resume.
This follow must be stopped again. Let’s hope that different failed practices don’t resume below this mayor.

Why Galliano?
The announcement that John Galliano would be the theme of the 2027 Met Gala is appalling, insulting and hurtful (“Back in fashion,” Aug. 3).
Why would anybody have fun a designer that was canceled as a result of of his antisemitic rant in 2011? If this have been another minority group, there can be an outrage of discrimination. But as a result of the present setting in New York City favors anti-Jewish discrimination and hate, it’s acceptable.
Anna Wintour and our mayor ought to look long and arduous on the injury attributable to their gross insensitivity and the unwarranted hate thrust upon Jews in New York.

Pirro’s peril

Fraud-loving Dems
After uncovering over $230 billion in fraudulent funds, Vice President JD Vance’s anti-fraud process pressure is looking on Congress to codify more anti-fraud protections in upcoming payments as a result of as he doesn’t need a potential future Democratic administration to “undo all the incredible work” his process pressure is doing (“JD pushes new anti-fraud laws,” Aug. 6).
Who would vote for a celebration that thwarts our authorities’s efforts to stop taxpayer money from being wasted and used for nefarious functions? Shouldn’t each politician and authorities official be anti-fraud?

Stop stalling, Don
President Trump is doing an glorious job, however enough is enough (“New 60-day strait pact ‘nearly reached,’ ” Aug. 6).
He has given Iran’s leaders probabilities over and over again. Iran doesn’t care about us or Israel, our largest ally within the Middle East. Trump is beginning to look weak. Finish the job and get it over with. How many probabilities do you need to give them? Tehran is stalling in each facet — it’s time to flex our energy as soon as and for all.
