The Issue: Retired Port Authority cops insist lefty pols like Mayor Mamdani skip the 9/11 ceremonies.
I applaud the Port Authority Retired Police Association for its letters insisting Gov. Hochul and Mayor Mamdani aren’t welcome on the 9/11 memorial (“Cops: Ban Kat, Mam for 9/11,” Aug. 30).
While the rationale of Israel-bashing “rhetoric and affiliations” are egregious enough for disqualification, I consider a second letter may very well be written citing the “dissing” of the Archdiocese on not just one, however a second event of significance to New York City Catholics.
Add to that Kat being a “cafeteria” Catholic. In my view, that’s additional sturdy grounds for not being welcome.

As a former firefighter who was critically injured on 9/11, I wholeheartedly agree with the retired cops’ letter.
Following 9/11, Americans had been one. I initially thought it will be a remedy for “American Amnesia,” however I used to be mistaken. First, the conspiracy theories began, adopted by dividing people into teams and pitting one towards the opposite. All of this divisiveness has resulted within the election of Mamdani. Rather than seeing himself because the quintessential instance of fulfilling the “American Dream,” he hates America more than the 9/11 hijackers.
I want the mayor would show some class for as soon as, keep away and permit us to honor our useless in peace.
