Illegal immigration, by definition, doesn’t.
Yet California politicians have spent years making an attempt to make that distinction matter much less.

Consider greater schooling.
The California Dream Act Application permits illegal immigrants and different qualifying noncitizens to use for state financial help. They could qualify for Cal Grants, college grants, community-college price waivers and different help.
Some of that help pays tuition. Some can help cover rent, food, transportation and books.
California even created a Dream Loan program as a result of illegal immigrants can’t obtain federal pupil loans.

At the University of California alone, undocumented AB 540 college students obtained $30 million in Cal Grants and one other $49 million in UC-funded need-based help in 2022-23.
That is $79 million in simply two classes of help at one college system.
And this has been happening for a quarter-century.
In 2001, California enacted AB 540, permitting qualifying illegal immigrants to pay in-state somewhat than nonresident tuition. The California Dream Act later opened taxpayer-funded financial help to them. When federal pupil loans remained unavailable, Democrats in Sacramento created Dream Loans.

Over time, Democrats in Sacramento have made being right here illegally much less of an impediment to receiving advantages that include being right here legally.

People wait years for visas and inexperienced playing cards. They navigate a sophisticated immigration system and abide by its restrictions as a result of they need to come to America legally.
