Hulk Hogan prompted a stir online after debuting a new look – although diehard wrestling fans asserted that his dramatic look is nothing new.

On Wednesday, Hogan – who lately expressed a need to reconcile together with his daughter after rocky household life was made public – stopped by Fox News’ ‘Fox & Friends’ to advertise Real American Freestyle Wrestling. The WWE Hall of Famer is launching the promotion alongside Eric Bischoff and legendary wrestling coach Israel “Izzy” Martinez.

During the interview, Hogan sported his signature crimson bandana with sun shades and a shirt with the phrases “America first, beer second” sprawled throughout the chest. But his facial hair – which featured a white handlebar mustache surrounded by darkish black beard stubble – is what caught the eye of viewers.

Taking to social media, droves of critics poked enjoyable at Hogan’s two-tone beard. “Hulk Hogan has not aged well,” one X person wrote, with one other including: “Hulk. Its time to stop dying to beard.”

A 3rd requested, “Does anyone believe this is Hulk Hogan?”

Others swiftly rushed to the protection of Hogan, insisting that the 71-year-old was merely bringing back his “Hollywood Hogan” persona – one of the principle heels within the New World Order during the late Nineteen Nineties.

“Why is this news? He sported this look anytime he was in ‘Hollywood’ Hulk Hogan, NWO mode,” somebody stated. A fifth chimed in: “WTF yall talking about? That’s Hollywood Hulk Hogan.”

While chatting with the FOX pundits, Hogan make clear the thought behind Real American Freestyle Wrestling, which he hopes will entice a mainstream viewers within the United States. “It’s freestyle wrestling, and it’s professional now because we get to pay the athletes,” Hogan defined.

“Izzy’s our linchpin. He has trained all the Olympic athletes, all the NCAA champions, all the college kids that really have made it. And he was our source to pull in all these great athletes and get everybody signed. And our goal is not to be competitive with Dana White, the UFC, or the WWE, but to be just as big or bigger because this is an underserved market.”

Looking forward to the longer term, Hogan added: “Basically, we’re gonna go to all the major venues. Our first one is August 30th in Cleveland. But the main thing is, because Eric’s so darn important to this venture, he knows how to deliver, produce, and make the fans care about these athletes.

“When Eric was explaining it to me, he goes, ‘It’s like The Voice. You shoot the backstory, you know, he broke his leg when he was younger, his family fell apart, or he got rewards for wrestling growing up. But once we find out what the backstory is, when these guys come through the tunnel you already care about the athletes.”

Coming from the WWE, Hogan initially expressed concern that the wrestlers wouldn’t have the ability to create compelling storylines with out a script. “I was worried about these young guys being like flat white bread, you know? And once I got around, they all got that Conor McGregor swagger,” he stated.

“They’ve been watching TV, they’ve been watching promos. They know about branding, they understand the opportunity, not only to make a ton of money doing what they love, freestyle wrestling, but also the licensing, the merchandising.”
