The Issue: Seven New York youngsters who’ve died within the final 12 months whereas below the supervision of ACS.
My earliest reminiscence of horrific baby abuse is from 1987, when Lisa Steinberg was murdered in Greenwich Village after being tortured by Joel Steinberg (“Kids doomed,” May 5).
And right here we’re, nearly 40 years later, and the terrible companies in charge of rescuing these poor, lovely innocents from their abusers are failing miserably.
I nonetheless have the newspapers back from 1987 with Lisa’s image on the entrance web page, and it nonetheless makes me cry, as do these terrible tales.
How is it thought of racist to take away these youngsters from these terrible dad and mom? I hope The Post’s reporting causes the Administration for Children’s Services such grief that issues get modified as soon as and for all.
Please don’t give up the struggle. Save these infants from the adults who’ve failed them.

So now the agenda of progressives has induced youngsters to die horribly, as a result of the ACS isn’t doing its job.
Instead of defending children, ACS staff are too nervous about “racism,” as a result of most of the households they examine are minorities. Time for Mayor Adams to step up and spearhead an investigation.
Also, it will be great to hear the candidates working for mayor tackle this atrocity.

I’m lucky to be 15 years retired after 32 years in Child Protective Services.
I do know firsthand what it’s like to reply to reviews of all types of abuse and neglect of youngsters, and what a employee endures after they enter a home.
Their security will not be assured. They’re additionally not given a crystal ball. But when a baby dies, as is sadly inevitable given the habits of some within the population they serve, the blame falls on them.

It could be a tragedy if Mayor Adams doesn’t implement the constructive remedies urged by The Post to purge ACS of its delusional and, yes, lethal woke tenets (“Save the Children,” Editorial, May 6).
The root causes of baby death and abuse are neither “structural racism” nor poverty. It is just that too many people have neither the ability nor willpower required to safely and lovingly rear offspring.
When dwelling situations are inhumane, youngsters should be eliminated, completely.
