‘Entitled’ woman steals man’s plane seat but he | Travel News

A person has known as out an ‘entitled’ traveler who stole his pre-reserved seat on a flight, sparking a dialog about airplane etiquette. While touring from Santorini to Paris together with his spouse, he had particularly chosen the exit row seats for his or her spacious legroom.

In a Reddit post, he recounted: “We had paid extra for the exit row seats which come with additional leg room. Also allowed for earlier group boarding but wifey was in the toilet when boarding started so we ended up boarding a bit later… no big deal I thought since we had reserved seats. When we boarded we see a lady in my exit row aisle seat. Of course a fellow American.”

He continued: “I informed her she was in my seat and she (without even looking up, mind you) asked if we couldn’t just sit in the exit row across the aisle which (at the moment) was empty. I of course politely but firmly told her no.”

By this time, he famous that the plane was roughly 75% full, and their exchange was inflicting a bottleneck – stopping different vacationers from getting settled earlier than departure.

After stepping apart momentarily to let others by, he discovered that the woman had but to maneuver. At his wit’s finish, he sternly addressed her. “Get out of my seat or I’ll have the flight attendant do it,” he mentioned.

“I said it loud enough to startle her and she finally looks up sheepishly and says, ‘Fine but you don’t need to be rude!’ And a huge huffy puffy.

“I rapidly responded with, ‘I wasn’t till you determined to be an entitled a**gap’ as she walked… To the second to final row on the plane! And yes the plane was 95% full in the long run, together with all exit row seats.”

Weighing in on the situation, one commenter praised the way the passenger was handled: “Handled completely. You have been well mannered enough to offer her a probability to go away your seat but did not take crap when she refuses to. Some people need a bit more of, errr, motivation to conform.”

Another person agreed: “Not enough people are being known as out for actual. They assume that people simply need to ‘keep away from bother’ so that they allow them to get away with it. This is why we’re within the political mess we’re in.”

A third commenter added: “It’s well beyond time we began matching attitudes with these entitled idiots. You weren’t impolite, you have been asserting dominance.”

Another person recounted a similar experience: “Only had somebody in my seat one time like this and I simply parked myself within the aisle ready for them to maneuver holding up your entire boarding course of.

“When the flight attendant come over and asked what the issue was I just told them to ask the person in my seat. Magically they were so confused and didn’t realise that wasn’t their seat.”
