I used to be a courtroom officer for 30 years (“Courting judicial trouble,” June 16).
I retired in 2016 on the rank of sergeant. We had staffing shortages even then. I agree with the whole lot former officer Shawn Hobson stated. I labored with him a few years, and he was a true skilled.
Two officers stabbed at Manhattan Criminal Court have been simply stabbed allegedly by a punk with 18 arrests. These are the type of people we have now to deal with on a day by day foundation.
