The liquid restriction for carry-on baggage might be the subsequent Transportation Security Administration (TSA) measure to bear a main change.

Kristi Noem, the Secretary of the Department of Homeland Security (DHS), stated that she is contemplating making a change to the TSA liquid rule at airport security.

“But I will tell you — I mean the liquids — I’m questioning. So that may be the next big announcement is what size your liquids need to be,” Noem advised NewsNation.

Noem made the comment on Wednesday on the Hill Nation Summit, which was hosted by The Hill and NewsNation in Washington, D.C.

The TSA carried out the 3-1-1 liquids rule in September 2006, limiting carry-on liquids to containers of 3.4 ounces or much less, all of which should match into a single quart-sized, resealable plastic bag.

The remark comes after DHS introduced passengers at home airports will no longer must take off their sneakers when going by security checkpoints on the airport, DHS oversees TSA.

Homeland Security Secretary Kristi Noem introduced, “Ending the Shoes-Off policy is the latest effort DHS is implementing to modernize and enhance traveler experience across our nation’s airports.”

“We expect this change will drastically decrease passenger wait times at our TSA checkpoints, leading to a more pleasant and efficient passenger experience. As always, security remains our top priority,” Noem continued.

“Thanks to our cutting-edge technological advancements and multi-layered security approach, we are confident we can implement this change while maintaining the highest security standards.”

Noem famous that the measure was a half of Trump’s imaginative and prescient “for a new Golden Age for American travel”.

A DHS spokesperson stated that any policy adjustments can be introduced “through official channels.”

“Secretary Noem and TSA are constantly looking for ways to enhance security, and improve the travel experience for the public,” the assertion learn.

“Hopefully the future of an airport, where I’m looking to go, is that you walk in the door with your carry-on suitcase, you walk through a scanner and go right to your flight,” Noem stated.

“It takes you one minute,” she added.
