Holger Rune has enlisted the help of tennis legend Andre Agassi because the Danish star appears to be like to rebound from his disappointing exhibiting at Wimbledon.

Since I’ve been with [coach Lars Christensen], I hadn’t really talked to anyone else about my tennis. I thought now was a good moment to reach out to Agassi because my base is back and I’m playing well again.

“When you’re changing coaches, you don’t play as well because you’re not following one opinion or a single structure. I thought this was the right time to get some extra input, but let’s see how it’s going to work. It’s not anything magic, but he obviously had some very wise words I can use.”

As the 2 have been engaged on sure elements of Rune’s sport, the Dane defined how Agassi helped him improve his return. “He had an amazing return,” he continued.

“I have a great return, as well, but he gave me some tips on how to make it even better. He also talked a lot with my coach, Lars, sharing his experience. The goal, he thinks, is for me to try and make things move a lot more slowly on my side of the court.”

In the top, Rune shared that his purpose was to be the best tennis participant on the earth and would attain out to whoever he needed to to attain his purpose. “I obviously have big potential and I know I can do a lot better. He was trying to help me achieve that,” he said.

“We’re still in contact and everything, so those three days was a kind of beginning of feeling things out, him giving me some advice, and me trying to do it on the court to see how it feels. It was just very exciting to see his point of view.”

For Rune, he might be seeking to avenge a less-than-stellar outing at Wimbledon. The 22-year-old was eradicated within the opening spherical by Nicolas Jarry, who Rune claimed he would have overwhelmed “nine out of 10 times” if he performed “normal.”

“Yeah, I think I started all right in the match playing well,” he mentioned. “Then third set, a bit unlucky. Fourth set I started to feel my knee and then got some treatment. Yeah, never was able to serve and hit my backhand as I was, you know, able to do in the first two sets.

“I’ve had it earlier than. I’ve not had it for a long time. I do not know. I do know what it’s, and particularly being extraordinarily low on the grass, it might probably trouble that space. You know, clearly did not count on it to come back back, however that may occur, yeah.”
