Italian wildcard Matteo Gigante requested a video review following an extraordinary incident during his Canadian Open conflict with Gabriel Diallo.

Finally, a slow-motion replay was proven, revealing that Diallo’s return had astonishingly made it by way of the center of the web.

Salmon exclaimed in disbelief: “It went through the net! I think it’s a pretty good angle. It looks like it went through the net. It went through the net! That’s a good enough angle. And now the crowd have seen it. It’s on the big screen, I think we can confirm. There it goes.”

The call was then overturned by Absolu, who awarded the point to Gigante, saying to the gang: “Ladies and gentlemen, as you can see, the return of Diallo went through the net. Call is overturned, advantage Gigante,”.

Diallo hit the ball into the web on the following point, permitting world No. 125 Gigante to carry serve and rating for the primary time.
