Mauraen Maguire, the companion of NFL dad Ed Kelce, handed away on Aug. 1 on the age of 74. According to a report from PEOPLE, Ed — the daddy of stars Travis and Jason Kelce — is “feeling an enormous void.”
“Maureen wasn’t just his partner, she was his person….They were a team. They shared everything… games, concerts, travel, dogs, dinners with family,” a source told PEOPLE.
Maguire was often pictured alongside Kelce as he attended sporting events for both of his sons, even interrupting a photoshoot between Ed and Taylor Swift to say “that’s my boyfriend.” Kelce recently shared a photo on Instagram of Maguire with Swift.
She had three children (Chuck, Courtney, and Patrick), six grandchildren, and two siblings (Loretta and John). Her obituary called her a “devoted mother whose greatest pride was her children.”
Maguire’s obituary also described how Kelce helped introduce her to football. “She also grew an unexpected love for football later in life, sharing many laughs and adventures with her beloved friend Ed Kelce and her loyal dog Butch,” it read.
“This is one of my favorite photos ever taken! Just so surreal seeing these 3 together. Congrats to the sandman for bringing Happy back to life in glorious fashion, haven’t looked forward to movie this much in awhile,” he wrote.
