Hamas’ harrowing hostage video: Letters – Latest News
The Issue: A video of emaciated Israeli hostage Evyatar David digging his grave.
The horrific photograph revealed within the New York Post — displaying an emaciated Israeli hostage — bears a chilling resemblance to pictures of Holocaust survivors (“Hamas hostage digs own grave,” Aug. 3).
It is a stark reminder that the cruelty inflicted by Hamas just isn’t far faraway from the barbarism of the Nazis.
The proven fact that hostages are being starved, denied medical care and used for propaganda, whereas their captors seem well-fed, is a ethical outrage.
Yet a lot of the liberal press, a number of Democratic lawmakers and quite a few worldwide actors seem more sympathetic to the perpetrators than to the 1,200 harmless victims of Oct. 7 and the remaining hostages who proceed to undergo.

According to information protection, the life of one Jewish hostage, Evyatar David, is valued a thousand occasions more than harmless Palestinians dying of starvation and illness.
The United States, particularly President Trump, all the time blindly helps Israel.
Meanwhile, any help for Palestinians is squashed and shortly judged as antisemitic.

It is no coincidence that the photograph of a Jew being starved and compelled to dig his own grave appeared in The Post on the saddest day of the Hebrew calendar — Tisha B’Av.
Those who perpetrated the horrors of the Holocaust have disappeared, and so will Hamas.
The world now has many more righteous people who abhor evil.
Among them are the editorialists and reporters of the New York Post, who are usually not afraid to report evil and cruelty because it happens, which is able to help defeat them and make the world a higher place.

This is a unhappy reminder of these horrific images of Jews digging mass graves earlier than being murdered by Nazi troopers.
It’s unhappy that some deny it, few bear in mind it and fewer have realized from it.

The harrowing image of Israeli hostage Evyatar David, 24, wanting like a Holocaust sufferer is one the world should see.
It is a reminder to those that have forgotten in regards to the sheer evil that Hamas represents.
It can be a reminder of our sacred obligation to convey the remaining hostages home instantly.

The Issue: John Lott Jr.’s Post column criticizing economists opposing President Trump’s tariffs.
Tariff opponents actually simply hate President Trump and like low-cost items (“Tariff ‘Experts’ Failed,” John Lott, PostOpinion, Aug. 7).
But everyone knows these low-cost items are produced as a result of of youngster and slave labor.
Any member of organized labor that stands for employees’ rights for all members of the labor pool ought to be the most important supporter of tariffs.
Tariffs pressure nations to compete with US labor on an even enjoying discipline and take away incentives for exploitative international labor practices.

John Lott’s attempt to defend Trump’s tariffs from economists’ criticisms misses the mark.
Economists oppose these tariffs as a result of they’re protectionist.
These levies are supposed to restructure the US financial system and remove commerce deficits by dramatically lowering imports.
It is that this protectionist effort that we oppose, and predict will inflict financial hurt on Americans.
Only by ignoring these penalties is Lott in a position to paint economists as clueless ideologues.
