Chase Elliott responds after Bubba Wallace told | Sports News

Chase Elliott’s pursuit of a second profession NASCAR Cup Series championship will begin on Sunday at Darlington Raceway with the Cook Out Southern 500, the place the 29-year-old shall be cheered on all through by his devoted fanbase.

“Okay, that’s kind of what I thought, based on the context of how he said it. But, you know, that’s okay. That’s how they want to roll. Definitely not on my radar, but I’m happy for them.”

Fans had been fast to weigh in on Elliott’s hilarious response, resembling one who mentioned, “Even Chase thinks some of his fans are weird.” A second added, “Jeff [Gluck] with the question everyone wants to know.” As one other replied, “I’m a diehard Chase fan, but I don’t call myself that.”

“I think you have to respect each round,” he mentioned, as per Speedway Digest. “This is going to be a tough round. You know, Darlington’s been a tough track for me. We’ve had some good runs here and there, but certainly not very consistent.

“And you look at Gateway (WWTR), I think, as a company, we’ve been kind of off there. Bristol’s been a good track for us, but, you know, that’s only a third of it, right? So, we’ve got to make sure we give this round the respect it deserves and, you know, show up ready to go this weekend.”

Despite Elliott’s obvious concern in regards to the First Round, he added that he was not confused heading into the Playoffs, and that his focus is merely on doing higher. “I mean, I think everybody gets stressed for one reason or another,” he mentioned. 

“But I’m not stressed over the Playoffs, I just want to do better, I want to run better, I want to be in better positions on a weekly basis. All those things motivate me to keep showing up, but the Playoffs don’t..I’m not anxious about it. 

“I’m not nervous about it, I just want to go and make sure we’re doing everything we can do, and just try to try to piece together some good weeks, and that starts this weekend. So, it’s really that simple.”
