US Open final delayed thanks to President Donald – Sports News
The Men’s Singles US Open final has been delayed by half-hour to permit followers to make it inside the stadium after excessive security measures have been put in place for President Donald Trump‘s attendance.
The President will make his first look back at Flushing Meadows in a decade as defending champion and world No. 1, Jannik Sinner, takes on rival and world No. 2, Carlos Alcaraz, in what could possibly be a five-set thriller within the Big Apple. The final was initially scheduled to get underway at 2PM ET. However, US Open organizers have pushed the beginning time back to 2.30PM ET to permit followers to make it by the in depth security.
Every week in the past, rumors swirled over the health of the President, with #TrumpUseless trending on X. When requested concerning the trend Trump was left speechless.
“No … I heard that. I get reports,” Trump stated. “I didn’t do any [news conferences] for two days and [the media] said, ‘There must be something wrong with him.'”

Asked how he felt about Trump attending, Alcaraz stated, “I think that it is a privilege for the tournaments having the president from every country just to support the tournament, to support tennis, and to support the match,” Alcaraz said. “For me, playing in front of him … I will try not to think about it.
“I don’t need myself to be nervous as a result of of it, however I believe attending the tennis match, it’s great for tennis to have the president on the final. But on Sunday, my job is to play my best tennis and never let anything get in the best way.”
