“Regularly reapplying to the Department for Transport for changes to the toll is expensive in terms of costs and time. We know this money would be better spent on our core operations.
“Putting in place the power to increase the toll yearly, in line with inflation, will imply that prices and revenues will stay broadly in line with one another by linking future toll will increase to will increase in construction prices.”
