“So I think that’s also why we need it, because sometimes players used to take a break, but they never really showed and explained why they were doing it. And I think finding that good balance is more important now.

“To perceive that, ‘Hey, I need to play for the Slam 1000 occasion. And so the remainder of the 12 months, I’ll take care of myself and discover a good steadiness.’ Because it’s important to discover it, it’s extremely important.”

“And generally the best answer was most likely to skip the event and take a break and reset. But they’re making a lot of necessary tournaments.”

The respective tours also moved some tournaments from one-week-long to two, which Garcia says became tough for players to cope with. “And I believe what’s tough to handle recently is two-week tournaments that was one week, and now there are two weeks, the 1,000 occasions,” Garcia said. 

“And it’s extremely tough for gamers to handle it as a result of if you happen to play nicely, you’re going to play each single day during two weeks at a very intense degree. And then if you happen to play badly, the time may be very long, and you continue to have to coach a lot since you need to improve.

“But in one month, maybe you are going to play two matches. So it’s very difficult to build confidence and to build rhythm on that. And it’s very difficult to build rhythm and confidence if you don’t play a lot of matches.

But if you play too much, you are going to get exhausted. So I think the two levels are trying to find a good balance.”
