Becerra was their man — largely as a result of he hadn’t performed enough to offend anyone.
So — not a dangerous strategy for getting promoted.
But it’s a horrible method to govern. You can’t run from powerful selections.
You should have the braveness to fail — and to change your thoughts.
Also — as a candidate, you owe it to the voters to present them a clear sense of the place you stand. It’s the one method they’ll maintain you accountable, if and if you win.
Becerra must determine if he is operating to control, or simply to be an empty swimsuit.
The established order in California isn’t chopping it. The Golden State wants management.
