Tesla on Thursday discontinued its primary driver-assistance system, Autopilot, in Canada and the US, in an attempt to push clients towards a more superior model of the technology branded as Full Self-Driving (Supervised).

The company had final week stated it might stop offering FSD as a one-time $8,000 buy from February 14, that means clients will solely have the ability to entry the software program by a month-to-month subscription priced at $99.

CFO Vaibhav Taneja had stated in October that solely 12% of all Tesla clients had paid for the FSD software program.
