Your tax {dollars} at work: The metropolis Health Department’s new Global Oppression and Public Health Working Group is, no shock, one other Israel-bashing outfit — and sure a signal of many more to come back below Mayor Zohran Mamdani.
It transparently has nothing to do with health in New York City (or wherever), actually: It’s all in regards to the ordinary “pro-Palestinian” noise about “genocide.”
Yet at the very least some public assets are supporting it: The “working group” met within the center of the workday Tuesday at DOH headquarters in Long Island City (with some workers zooming in); how many had been on the clock?
This is merely rank politicization, washed by means of the lefty-groupthink insistence that all the pieces dangerous is associated and pushed by some mixture of capitalism, white supremacy, “settler colonialism” and so forth: The uni-cause is all.
If he had any curiosity in doing his job, the mayor would stand up for professionalism within the metropolis workforce by ordering the “working group” shut down, or at the very least pressured off metropolis property and out of working hours.
But our mayor is a dedicated, lifelong Israel-hater himself, and his Democratic Socialist motion is all about utilizing public assets to fuel its “transformative” agenda.
So he’s more far prone to defend this by dishonestly pretending the problem is metropolis workers’ proper to have and specific their own views and so forth. and so forth. — all of the issues he’d by no means say if the outfit had been pro-Israel and even anti-Hamas.

Fact is, the true chief goal of organizations just like the “working group” is to assert turf — to warn pro-Israel DOH workers to keep their heads down or higher but discover jobs some place else.
