Iryna Zarutska’s killer and more: Letters – Latest News
‘Incapable’ killer
Decarlos Brown Jr., who butchered Ukrainian refugee Iryna Zarutska, has been discovered “incapable to proceed” on homicide expenses (“NC rail slay trial delayed,” April 9).
This is similar animal with at the least 14 earlier arrests. He was by no means discovered incapable in these different 14 crimes. But now that the death penalty is on the desk, all of a sudden he’s mentally unstable.
Somehow, I feel if the races had been reversed, he would have been electrocuted in a New York minute.

Artemis conjures up
The Artemis II journey goes effectively, reminding Baby Boomers of the Apollo program and inspiring the youth of right this moment to look up — particularly to look up from their telephones (“Over the moon at farthest reach,” April 7).
We can hope this may proceed; that people land on the moon again, head for Mars and do no matter comes subsequent.

Anti-Israel AOC
Rep. Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez has now completely distanced herself from assist for Israel, opposing support even for defensive Iron Dome technology (“AOC Goes Full-Tilt Anti-Israel,” Editorial, April 6).
This feckless pandering to Democrats’ radical socialist base is especially regrettable. Beyond endangering Israeli civilians, it disses Jewish American and non-Jewish supporters of Israel, some of whom have supported her previously.
What’s equally disturbing is the absence of criticism of her pathetic stand from those that would declare to assist Israel, together with Sen. Chuck Schumer, Rep. Hakeem Jeffries and Gov. Hochul.

Birth on a aircraft
Despite its tone of frivolity, the headline in your article about a girl giving beginning on a Caribbean airways flight en path to JFK Airport suggests more severe legal implications (“Little angel born on JFK jet,” April 6).
Giving beginning whereas approaching the airport suggests contested eligibility for birthright citizenship, household entry to welfare together with SNAP advantages, Temporary Assistance for Needy Families and residency within the United States. This is hardly what the 14th Amendment supposed.

Hate en ‘Vogue’
No magazine is more indicative of the leftist manifesto than Vogue (“Hate is back in Vogue,” Kirsten Fleming, April 8).
Anna Wintour has by no means had a conservative first woman grace its cowl. Why? Because it’s just for the social gathering of inclusion and love — give me a minute till I stop laughing.
She praised Mayor Mamdani’s bride, an antisemite and cheerleader of the wanton homicide of harmless ladies and kids by Hamas.
Wintour, Meryl Streep and many different clueless dolts simply can’t recover from their derangement syndromes.

SNL’s sick joke
If “Saturday Night Live” joked about a Joe Biden assassination and Republicans cheered, you-know-what would’ve hit the fan (“ ‘SNL’ lobs sick Don death joke,” April 6).
The left-wing cancel tradition of right this moment is simply plain sick. What was aired on national TV was contemptible. And if something deserves to be canceled, it’s “SNL.”
