Motorsport driver Kylie Marie Walton has given followers an update on her restoration following a dramatic incident final month by which her truck caught fire during observe.
Walton and fellow off-road racer Janey Lee had been testing their Monster Energy-sponsored vehicle forward of the San Felipe 250 in Baja California when a fuel cell explosion induced the truck to burst into flames. Lee turned trapped inside after her seat belts did not release, forcing Walton to drag her from the burning vehicle.
On Monday, Walton reassured supporters by sharing a message of gratitude, thanking followers for his or her encouragement and assist during what she described as a tough period. “I just wanted to take a moment to check in and say thank you from the bottom of my heart for the ongoing prayers, messages, and support. It truly means more to me than I can explain,” she wrote in an Instagram post.
“Right now I’m still home with my family, my mom, dad, and sister, focusing on healing, resting, and taking things one day at a time. This has definitely been a long journey, but I’m doing my best to stay positive and keep moving forward. I had a doctor’s appointment last week and was able to see Janey while I was there. It meant so much to check in on her and see how she’s doing in her recovery too.

The update also included a video showing Walton having the dressings on her hands changed. She previously underwent surgery after suffering severe burns to both hands.
In a separate update, Lee’s husband, Eric, revealed that she had sustained extensive burns to her legs and is expected to undergo multiple surgeries as part of her recovery. Commenting on her husband’s video update Lee wrote: “Thank you all for your continued love and support, there has been a lot of highs and lows on the road to recovery. But knowing I have an amazing support squad behind me helps me push through the toughest times. I’m forever grateful.”
The San Felipe 250 is a 250-mile off-road race staged on the Baja California peninsula, traditionally opening the 2026 SCORE World Desert Championship season.
Lee and Walton are widely recognized for their time as members of the Monster Energy Girls, a promotional group often seen alongside athletes at motorsport and MMA events. In recent years, though, they have shifted into competitive racing themselves, making their SCORE debut last September.
