The Issue: CBS firing “60 Minutes” host Scott Pelley after he claimed the new boss is “murdering” the show.

For years, “60 Minutes” has been criticized by many viewers for what they see as a left-leaning bias (“Fight for what’s wrong!” Kirsten Fleming, June 3).

With Skydance taking possession, there seems to be an effort to maneuver CBS towards a broader and more politically balanced method.

Scott Pelley’s public criticism of management displays a perception that he is aware of what direction this system ought to take.

But brazenly difficult the people now working the company is a dangerous strategy and Pelley paid the suitable price.

Bari Weiss didn’t “murder” 60 Minutes — the injury was self-inflicted.

Fleming’s depiction of Pelley as a diva falls a bit short.

He is more like a petulant little one who views himself as bigger than the world round him.

The habits of this self-important so-called journalist was past the pale.

Rule No. 1 is to by no means chew the hand that feeds you.

Rule No. 2 is that dramatic shifts occur in each newsroom and programming heart when possession modifications.

Rule No. 3 is that no one is indispensable.

The incurably pompous Pelley in all probability imagined himself as William Holden’s heroic character in “Network.”

Sadly, the ever-delusional Pelley has neither the mind, charisma nor seems to get close to pulling it off.

However, as news-division people go, the Ron Burgundy position suits him to a tee.

Although it’s unhappy to see a veteran broadcaster dismissed after virtually 40 years of service, the purpose of balanced information should triumph.

Perhaps Weiss’ management will enable her new hires to stimulate the viewer to assume, “How did we get into this mess?” when watching reviews like that of El Salvador’s CECOT jail.

Perhaps the viewer will now have the ability to acknowledge Israel’s contributions to human progress, alongside the false accusations of its genocide.

Time will inform.

What was as soon as a household staple, one we regarded ahead to, changed into faux information.

The “woke media” took over, and we by no means watched again.

Maybe now that Pelley and his woke comrades are gone, it’ll go back to what it was.

The Issue: British cops handcuffing Henry Nowak for false racism accusations as he bled to death.

The mindless, sickening homicide of British citizen Henry Nowak was not as sickening because the response of Southampton police (“Dying vic cuffed,” June 3).

They didn’t call for help; as a substitute they handcuffed a dying man.

All of these cops needs to be fired and charged with negligence.

The complete disregard for Nowak’s accidents was disgusting and reflective of woke polices in England.

As Henry’s own household has urged, his death shouldn’t turn into a vehicle for the violence we’ve got seen in latest days.

While there could also be some short-term political benefit to opportunistic politicians and agitators, true justice won’t ever be attained by means of divisive rallies that pit communities towards each other.

Now shouldn’t be the time to be divided in our shared dedication to make sure that all our communities can dwell collectively in concord.

This was a horrific crime adopted by a mistake by the police.

I’m glad the killer acquired sentenced, however this could stand as a warning to us on the opposite facet of the pond.

Worries of being known as racist shouldn’t hinder medical care and policing.
