Carlos Alcaraz sported some new ink during his Saturday match at Indian Wells.

The world No. 3, known for his tattoos marking his Grand Slam victories, surprised fans with a fresh date tattooed on his arm – April 23, 2025. After defeating Quentin Halys in his first match, the Spanish tennis player posted a photo on Instagram showcasing his latest tattoo in California.

It was later revealed that Alcaraz’s new tattoo was temporary and served as a promotional tool for his forthcoming Netflix documentary. As a two-time champion at Indian Wells, Alcaraz has previously teased his Netflix series at the tournament.

Last year, the 21-year-old shared enigmatic camera messages, including an ‘N’ and the iconic Netflix ‘tudum’ sound, urging fans to “stay tuned.”

Shortly after, Netflix confirmed a series chronicling Alcaraz’s 2024 season was underway. A year later, the documentary appears ready for release.

Alcaraz continued his cryptic messaging at Indian Wells on Saturday, entering the main stadium with 24.4.25 subtly etched on his forearm. Marca reports that the temporary tattoo will fade within 36 hours, and the inscribed date signifies the launch of his Netflix series, anticipated to be one of the streaming service’s standout offerings.

Alcaraz posted a photo of himself celebrating his 6-4 6-2 win on Instagram, with the temporary tattoo prominently visible. “Good premiere,” he captioned, hinting at both his victory and upcoming documentary series.

Earlier this year, Netflix released still images from Alcaraz’s documentary on social media, showcasing him spending time with his family and proudly holding his Wimbledon trophy, while also announcing the series title: ‘Carlos Alcaraz: My Way.’

The episodes will document the Spaniard’s 2024 season, marked by both triumphs and setbacks. Alcaraz achieved the ‘Channel Slam’, claiming back-to-back victories at the French Open and Wimbledon.

However, he suffered heartbreak in the Olympic final, losing to Novak Djokovic and leaving him in tears, and later experienced an early exit in the second round of the U.S. Open. This documentary series represents Netflix’s latest venture into tennis, following the cancellation of their Break Point series after two seasons.

Additionally, the platform announced a documentary featuring Rafael Nadal, chronicling the lead-up to his emotional retirement, and streamed an exhibition match between Alcaraz and Nadal in Las Vegas last year.
