A man in Massachusetts was doubly fortunate during a Powerball drawing earlier this month.
Fitchburg resident Paul Corcoran landed a $2 million pre-tax windfall from a pair of lottery tickets that received him prizes during the drawing that Powerball held on July 9, the lottery stated Tuesday.
Corcoran’s windfall got here after he “initially bought a ticket for seven Powerball drawings and mistakenly thought the final drawing on that ticket had already occurred, leading him to purchase another multi-draw ticket that also included the July 9 drawing,” Powerball stated, citing the Massachusetts Lottery.
Each of the tickets introduced him $1 million in prize money earlier than taxes because of them matching Powerball’s 5 white balls for that drawing.
