Larrson was not pleased. ““How much ——- room do I have to leave people?” he bellowed to his team on the radio “I’ve been trying to be a good teammate, a good competitor, and it hasn’t gotten me anywhere the last ——- hour.”
His crew chief, Cliff Daniels, encouraged Larson to “vent.”
“Yeah, we’re gonna look at it,” Daniels assured him. “I know those guys have been hard on you, man. Vent. Yell at me, and then we’re gonna figure out how we’re gonna reset. I know you’re mad. Stay mad for a few minutes and we’ll figure out our next move. I’ll let you know on damage. Standby.”
Neither Larson nor Elliott — who finished 14th — are in danger of missing the playoffs: both have wins already on the campaign (Larson with three, Elliott with one).
The points standings show a similar dominance. Larson ranks second, only behind Denny Hamlin, while Elliott checks into sixth.
