The Issue: Former New York City Mayor Bill de Blasio’s endorsement for Zohran Mamdani.

So Bill de Blasio, aka Mayor de “Bozo,” endorsed Zohran Mamdani for mayor and tried to clarify his choice in a visitor article for The Daily News (“DeB’s damning endorsement,” Sept. 3).

He may’ve saved the ink and the paper by simply saying, “The only reason I’m endorsing him is because he’s an idiot just like me. Birds of a feather flock together.”

Gene O’Brien

Whitestone

You heard it proper from the mouth of the worst mayor in New York’s historical past: Zohran Mamdani has the correct concepts.

So, if you wish to proceed the decline of your metropolis, with more crime and dysfunction put into motion by Warren Wilhelm Jr.

(“Bill de Blasio”), run out and vote for him.

Gary Mottola

Brooklyn

Former Mayor Bill de Blasio is doubling down on silly by endorsing self-identified socialist Zohran Mamdani to be the subsequent mayor of New York City.

Mamdani’s proposal without cost bus rides, government-run groceries, defunding of the police and the use of social staff to answer avenue violence may ship “tingles” down de Blasio’s leg, however ought to ship worry down the spines of taxpaying New Yorkers.

After watching the fast decline of the town for the reason that Giuliani and Bloomberg administrations, I’ve no doubt that 4 years of Mamdani will chase giant employers and high-income earners out of New York, and their tax {dollars} will go along with them.

Without its tax base, New York City will collapse and with it, Mamdani’s socialist experiment.

Jack Kaufman

Naples, Fla.

I’m shocked that it took de Blasio so long to endorse Mamdani.

Those two are taking New Yorkers down a street of catastrophe — first with the previous insurance policies from de Blasio and now the new insurance policies that Mamdani will attempt to get in.

I hope that the Democratic voters are sensible enough to see the place that is all going.

Then again, they voted for the putz twice.

Bob Robustelli

Stamford, Conn.

The bother with many political jokes like Joe Biden, Bill de Blasio and Zohran Mamdami is that they usually get elected.

New Yorkers, suppose long and arduous about your vote in November’s mayoral election.

The Issue: New York Rep. Jerrold Nadler’s announcement that he won’t search re-election.

Rep. Jerry Nadler’s retirement from Congress gives an alternative for Democrats to inject some younger blood into their national management (“Nadler is calling it quits,” Sept. 2).

The celebration has some younger leaders throughout the nation with more average views, akin to Gov. Wes Moore, Gov. Josh Shapiro and Sen. John Fetterman.

Unfortunately, these people are being pushed to the back by the celebration’s excessive AOC-Mamdani-wing.

Peter W. Kelly

Hazlet, NJ

Your piece hailing Rep. Nadler’s choice to forgo a re-election marketing campaign obscures political actuality (“Jerry Nadler’s Bold Example,” Editorial, Sept. 3).

Nadler scrambled to right away endorse Mamdani after the latter’s main win, however that his own Judaism and prior assist for Israel — which is now at best lukewarm — contrasted with Mamdani’s ignorant, frenzied hatred for the Jewish state.

He thought it could forestall the ascendancy of the far-left within the Democratic Party and permit him to retain his House seat with out a main problem.

He was shortly disabused of that notion and realized that the kind of liberalism prevalent in his technology is now seen as antithetical by the likes of Mamdani and Alexandrioa Ocasio-Cortez.
