In an unusual moment during their exhibition match in Las Vegas, Aryna Sabalenka had Naomi Osaka doing push-ups.

The two tennis stars were participating in the MGM Rewards Slam, which also featured Andre Agassi and Mardy Fish in a mixed doubles showcase.

This event was held prior to the main draw of Indian Wells, set to commence this weekend. U.S. Open champion Sabalenka emerged victorious in a match that was more about entertainment than competition, much to the delight of those present at the Michelob ULTRA Arena.

After winning the first game of the second set to love, she gestured for Osaka to do push-ups. Osaka complied, struggling with Sabalenka’s powerful serve and hitting a forehand return long, thereby conceding the game.

She managed to complete 10 push-ups as the crowd counted along, then stood up laughing to loud cheers. Later, Sabalenka surprised Osaka with a flawless underarm serve, scoring an ace.

The Las Vegas exhibition event was initially planned as a two-day spectacle featuring top men’s players in a round robin of 10-point tiebreaks on Sunday. However, due to Jannik Sinner’s doping ban and Taylor Fritz’s potential injury, which led him to withdraw from the recent Mexican Open, these matches were indefinitely postponed.

In response, organisers reshuffled the schedule, bringing in Agassi and Fish for a mixed doubles match alongside Sabalenka and Osaka. The team of Agassi and Sabalenka emerged victorious, narrowly defeating Fish and Osaka 10-8.
