Dave Portnoy had a five-sentence response to seeing the heartbreaking way the Philadelphia Phillies’ season ended, with the Barstool boss’s feedback coming after taking a shot on the New York Yankees.

With the Los Angeles Dodgers having loaded the bases within the backside of the tenth inning, Phillies reliever Orion Kerkering was tasked with ending the risk. Pitching towards Dodgers star Andy Pages, Kerkering threw a 96-mph sinker that broke Pages’ bat, with the ball ending up at his ft.

“I believe seeing JT square up in front of him & pointing (to 1B) & it being the closer play is what lead to the decision to go home on that play,” Braden wrote on X.

“It’s, you already know, I really feel for him as a result of he is placing all of it on his shoulders, however we win as a group and we lose as a group.” The manager also spoke about Philadelphia’s character, as the team made sure to comfort the reliever after the game.

“That tells you about what they’re made of, you already know. Like I stated, they win as a group, they lose as a group, they assist one another. As unhealthy as you’re feeling, it is good to see them be there for one another,” he concluded.
