“It would be just a huge thing for our company to have a three-in-four shot,” Briscoe continued. “I feel good about Christopher going to Martinsville, too. Hopefully he can get in. Hopefully all three of us can be going for it. That would be a pretty special thing. Hopefully we don’t screw it up like the end of Kansas, and one of us gets it.”

The dynamic between JGR teammates has been a subject of dialogue this postseason following an ugly on-track dustup between Hamlin and Ty Gibbs within the Round of 12. On Lap 111 of the USA Today 30, the duo have been racing for place when the latter entered low and slid up high into his lane. The former didn’t take kindly to the maneuver, promptly making contact with the left rear quarter panel of the No. 54 Toyota in Turn 1 and sending him spinning into the surface wall at New Hampshire Motor Speedway.

Following the fiery incident, Hamlin — who later expressed remorse for how all the pieces performed out — asserted that he and Gibbs buried the hatchet due to a collection of behind-the-scenes conversations.

“I think they’re in a good place. You know, we had some meetings this week,” Hamlin advised reporters at Kansas Speedway. “I thought they were all productive meetings, but obviously, the guts of that obviously, going to need to be confidential.”

Gibbs proved that there was no lingering dangerous blood between himself and his teammates, offering a pivotal push to Briscoe on a two-lap time beyond regulation dash during the YellaWood 500. “Ty Gibbs, just incredible teammate there,” the 30-year-old said.

“I mean, I honestly would not have won that race without Ty,” Briscoe stated. “This is an amazing team effort. I can’t believe I won a superspeedway race. I haven’t done it at any level.”
