Curtis Sliwa’s refusal to quit NYC’s mayoral race: – Latest News
The Issue: Calls for Curtis Sliwa to drop out of the mayoral race to help Andrew Cuomo win.
Please, Curtis Sliwa, don’t drop out of this race (“Defiant Curtis rejects ‘bribes’ & stands ground,” Oct. 22).
Republican voters in New York City have the best to a candidate they select.
Even if he drops out, his identify will nonetheless be on the poll, and I’ll vote for him anyway — like most Republican voters will.
Maybe if the New York Post, and everybody else who’s been telling him to drop out, gave Sliwa some optimistic press, or a minimum of a little respect, he would have a shot at successful.
I can’t vote for a corrupt Democrat.
If they need to destroy this metropolis by electing a communist, then so be it.
Andrew Cuomo, so far as I’m involved, is no higher than Zohran Mamdani.

It’s actually a disgrace that Sliwa can not comprehend that his ego and satisfaction should not a issue within the upcoming mayoral election.
The important level is that Mamdani can be terribly harmful to our metropolis.

I agree that we don’t need Mamdani for mayor, however The Post is making an attempt to push the unsuitable man out of the race.
Cuomo is as horrible as Mamdani.
As governor, he allegedly sexually harassed ladies and was accountable for the COVID nursing-home scandal.
Cuomo is the one who wants to withdraw.
His supporters would by no means vote for Mamdani, both.
That means Sliwa would get all these votes, plus his own, and beat Mamdami.

My coronary heart hurts for Curtis.
He gave his years and nearly his life for our metropolis, however is being requested to stroll away and depart New York City within the palms of one of two horrible males.
I perceive those that are asking him to step down — it’s a political strategy to hopefully elect the “best of the worst.”
I’m offended that Curtis was not supported more diligently by the Republican Party and the influential companies and money males of New York.
It’s not not possible to elect a Republican mayor, and they need to’ve put all the things they’d behind Curtis.

Curtis, you’re not Harry Truman, and this isn’t 1948. In a metropolis with six registered Democrats for each Republican, the one factor you’ll be able to guarantee by staying within the race is the election of Zohran Mamdani, and the slaughter it’s going to carry to New York City.
Ask your self: Are you being obstinate for the great of New York, or in your own ego and selfishness?

What a disappointing editorial from The Post.
It’s more acceptable for Cuomo to drop out (“Drop Out, Curtis,” Editorial, Oct. 21).
Cuomo put COVID sufferers back into nursing properties, killing many; he known as ICE brokers “thugs”; said political conservatives don’t belong in New York; instituted horrible insurance policies; resigned in shame over scandalous conduct and more.
Now he will get to come back and spoil town too?
There is a candidate who can reverse the harm completed and about to be completed. Stop the false narrative that “he can’t win” and vote Curtis Sliwa.

Newspapers like The Post are supposed to be champions of the First Amendment, but you might be all too prepared to silence the voices of Sliwa’s many supporters.
You cite ballot numbers that recommend that solely Cuomo can beat Mamdani — however sound rules don’t rise or fall on the premise of polls.
Polls will be unsuitable, particularly when a portion of the citizens stays undecided on this contest.
Sliwa has his flaws, however his misdeeds pale compared to the heinous conduct of Cuomo and Mamdani.

Curtis, your creation of the Guardian Angels and the bravery of the volunteers who joined could be very commendable.
NYC can by no means thanks enough.
Right now, you’re confronted with the hardest resolution of your life.
But the probabilities of you successful the mayoral election are slim to none, at best.
You have to do the best factor and stroll away.
You can not permit the snake oil salesman to win this race.
