Don Lemon’s arrest for invading a St. Paul church as half of an anti-ICE protest has his lefty-media friends sonorously pontificating about the First Amendment, “attacks on journalism” and fascism in America — ignoring the basic incontrovertible fact that a press card isn’t a license to interrupt that law.
Boasting that you simply’re “committing journalism” as you maintain a mic doesn’t immunize you from arrest and prosecution for becoming a member of with an ugly mob to harass a congregation on non-public property, which is precisely what Lemon did.
Lemon joined the band of “resistance protesters” who disrupted of Sunday providers at Cities Church; coyly telling his digicam they have been “planning an operation that we’re going to follow them on . . . After we do this operation, you’ll see it live.”
He smirkingly introduced that the function of “Operation Pull-up” was “to surprise people, catch them off guard, and hold them to account.”
The feds arrested him for violating the FACE Act, which prohibits the use or risk of drive to intervene with non secular observance at a place of worship.

That’s plainly what Lemon did, as he smugly informed the bewildered pastor of the church that the mob’s “freedom of speech and freedom to assemble and protest” trumped the congregation’s proper to worship God in peace, and browbeat the minister demanding solutions to his questions.
Of course, no one has a proper to talk, assemble or protest on another person’s non-public property.
And calling your self a reporter as you take part an unlawful motion doesn’t offer you a “get out of jail” card.

Lemon is no completely different from Antifa agitators who riot whereas holding a cellphone and call themselves “press” or “legal observers,” or have some bandages in a backpack and call themselves “medics.”
This ruse — not so removed from having Hamas operatives put on “PRESS” vests — helps goons transfer out and in of energetic rioting whereas sustaining deniability as to their true function.
After his St. Paul stunt, Lemon bashed the “entitlement” and “white supremacy” of the Cities Church congregation, whining that being a “gay, black man in America” makes him a goal for persecution by the forces of repression.
Puh-leeze: He’s a rich man claiming that supposed sufferer standing and a (false) sense of ethical superiority give him some excuse to lord it over regular people.
Genuine freedom of the press is very important to American life (and our own work); that makes all of it the more important that delulus like Don Lemon pay actual penalties for making an attempt to show the commerce into a privilege that in some way trumps the rights of each different citizen.
