Figure AI is testing humanoid robots and its efficiency ranges in an 8-hour livestream on social media.
The robot, named Helix 02, is an AI control system that allows absolutely autonomous, long-horizon duties, akin to cleansing a front room or working a dishwasher. During Monday’s livestream, the robot was seen shifting supply packages into a conveyor belt in what seemed to be a warehouse.
“Watch a team of humanoid robots running a full 8-hr shift at human performance levels. This is fully autonomous running Helix-02,” Figure AI CEO Brett Adcock wrote on X.
In a separate assertion, Adcock detailed that the robots have been tasked with detecting the barcode on the packages, choosing them up, and reorienting them so the barcode faces down onto the conveyor. The CEO says this motion takes humans an average of three seconds.
According to Startup Fortune, the concept for the 8-hour livestream got here after robotics professional Scott Walter argued that humanoid robots is not going to be helpful till they will survive prolonged work hours like humans can.
