Disruption affecting Amazon Web Services has led to a spike in reported outages throughout a big selection of web providers together with for HMRC, Zoom and Snapchat.
Downdetector, a web site which tracks complaints about online providers, confirmed a spike in experiences on Monday morning, together with more than 2,681 at Amazon Web Services (AWS) and 500 experiences of points for the HM Revenue & Customs (HMRC) web site by 9am.
Other providers displaying a spike in reported outages included Slack, Ring, Vodafone, Signal, Halifax, BT, EE and Sky.
A service health replace by AWS posted at 9.26am on Monday stated: “We can confirm significant error rates for requests made to the DynamoDB endpoint in the US-EAST-1 Region.
“This issue also affects other AWS Services in the US-EAST-1 Region as well. During this time, customers may be unable to create or update Support Cases.
“Engineers were immediately engaged and are actively working on both mitigating the issue, and fully understanding the root cause.”
The replace stated its Amazon DynamoDB database service had been “disrupted” and 20 different providers had been “impacted” together with Amazon CloudFront, AWS Config and AWS Security Token Service.
