Apple shutters store in China for first time as – Business News

Apple is shuttering a store in China, marking its first closure in the nation amid its mounting struggles in the key smartphone market. 

The Cupertino, Calif.-based company is closing a store in northeastern China, situated in Dalian City’s Parkland Mall, on Aug. 9.

“Given the departure of several retailers at the Parkland Mall, we have made the decision to close our store,” Apple spokesman Brian Bumbery advised The Post.

“We love serving the Dalian community, and all of our valued team members will have the opportunity to continue their roles with Apple.”
