In October 2022, the 23XI Racing driver was going alongside on Lap 94 during the South Point 400. Larson tried to do a three-wide cross and Wallace stored his foot on the fuel, not giving the previous any room and led to Larson slamming Wallace’s Toyota into the wall, which the 23XI star didn’t admire.

Once Larson’s car was on the apron, Wallace appeared to deliberately hook the Hendrick Motorsports star and into Christopher Bell, who noticed his race finish as a end result of the incident. After each drivers made their means out of their automobiles, an incensed Wallace approached Larson and repeatedly shoved him, regardless of the officers’ warnings.

Speaking with reporters after the kerfuffle, Wallace said per ESPN: “I’m smart enough to know how easily these cars break, so when you get shoved into the fence deliberately like he did trying to force me to lift, the steering was gone. Larson wanted to make a three-wide divebomb, but he never cleared me and I don’t lift.

“Bubba’s actions are not in keeping with the values of our team and partners. We have spoken to Bubba and expressed our disapproval of how he handled the situation. Bubba has made impressive strides this season and this experience is an opportunity for him to further learn and grow as a competitor in NASCAR.”

Wallace launched his own apology on social media, which apparently didn’t characteristic an apology to Larson for the shoving match between the 2 males.

“I want to apologize for my actions on Sunday following the on-track incident with Kyle Larson and the No. 5 car,” Wallace’s apology started. “My behavior does not align with the core values that are shared by 23XI Racing and our partners, who have played a crucial role in my incredible journey to the top of this great sport.

“I need to apologize to NASCAR and the followers, together with Christopher Bell, Joe Gibbs Racing, and Toyota for placing them in a state of affairs within the Playoffs that they don’t deserve.

“I compete with immense passion, and with passion at times comes frustration. Upon reflecting, I should have represented our partners and core team values better than I did by letting my frustrations follow me outside of the car. You live and learn and I intend to learn from this.”
