DA’s latest insult to cops: Letters – Latest News
The Issue: Prosecutors scale back costs towards a man arrested within the snowball-fight assault on NYPD officers.
Manhattan’s District Attorney Alvin Bragg ought to have this thug give a public and heartfelt apology to the police officers he injured with snowballs (“ ‘Kid’ you not, sir,” Feb. 27).
It is particularly important that the public’s perception in security is preserved.

The mayor mentioned it was nothing however a snowball battle. Now the disgraceful District Attorney’s Office has diminished the costs to harassment for the assaults with massive snow boulders upon the gallant women and men of the NYPD.
I ponder: If the district lawyer or the mayor had been smashed on the top with a massive chunk of snow, and even a small snowball, would they nonetheless really feel the identical manner?
The people of New York City don’t deserve the protections of the courageous women and men who carry and put on the protect of the NYPD.

All the retired cops from different generations have to be shaking their heads in disbelief over this snowball incident.
The mayor noticed no motive to correctly reply to this vivid show of humiliation and disrespect. My guess is deep down, he loved it. It matches effectively together with his on-the-record emotions concerning the police.
As for NYPD Commissioner Jessica Tisch, we applaud her for not caving in to the mayor’s misjudgment.

The mayor has despatched a message that he condones the acts of violence towards the police, and it will allow future acts of violence towards the police.
This is completely unacceptable. Acts towards the police will escalate. Criminals will really feel the mayor is on their aspect and be emboldened, and nothing will occur to them. It’s a very unhealthy state of affairs for town.
This is what New Yorkers voted for. This mentality can not proceed or we’re all doomed.

Let’s be actual. This was no enjoyable day within the park after a snowstorm. People weren’t cozied up round a bonfire passing round sizzling chocolate and singing “Kumbaya.”
Calling this an “innocent snowball fight” is an insult to precise snowball fights, which contain keen, enthusiastic members on each side. This was nearer to goal follow. My hat’s off to Commissioner Tisch for calling these acts felony.
The irony is that if anyone of these nitwits had been in hassle and dialed 911, those self same officers they pelted would have responded to help them in a New York minute.

The complete courtroom system is totally out of whack — from the revolving-door courtroom system to prosecutors’ refusal to prosecute. Add to that Mayor Mamdani’s lack of respect for the NYPD which is revolting.
Perhaps the union can set up a good old school case of the blue flu for 48 hours and see how our mayor and his moronic constituents would recognize and miss New York’s most interesting.
I grew up in Jackson Heights, and we realized to respect the Police, Fire and Sanitation departments. They had been all the time there to help and serve us, and must be revered.

But seeing photographs of NYPD officers pelted with big chunks of snow makes me rethink my go to this upcoming summer season.
I don’t know whether or not I’ll really feel protected strolling the streets of New York with my household when even New York’s Finest can no longer stand up to felony mobs. You’re shedding vacationers, New York City.

During my youth, should you threw snowballs and iceballs at cops, you’ll get arrested and generally finish up with black eyes. Only criminals, and people who need to be criminals, would take into consideration doing this.
And by the best way, these had been clearly not “kids” as Mamdani appears to assume — they had been full-grown adults.
