Gov. Kathy Hochul’s workplace didn’t pull punches whereas ruthlessly bringing up Barstool Sports founder Dave Portnoy’s soiled laundry during a social media spat.

Taking to social media on Wednesday, Portnoy — who not too long ago bought into a separate warfare of phrases with California Rep. Eric Swalwell — slammed Hochul for asking rich New York residents to help convey their friends back to the Big Apple. “I need people who are high net worth to support the generous social programs that we want to have in our state,” the Democratic governor mentioned whereas showing at a Politico discussion board.

“Now, there are some patriotic millionaires who stepped up. OK, cut me the checks if you want to be supportive. But maybe the first step should be go down to Palm Beach and see what you can bring back home, because our tax base has been eroded.

“So I philosophically don’t have a problem. I have to look at the fact that we are in competition with other states who have less of a tax burden on their corporations and their individuals.

“And I would say remote work changed everything,” Hochul continued. “There are people who could only work in an office in Manhattan and work in New York state. And they were captives to our state. They were going to stay. We saw that that’s not the case.”

The feedback clearly didn’t sit properly with Portnoy, as the 49-year-old branded Hochul a “hypocrite” for calling on the wealthy to return back to New York. “The unbelievable arrogance and hypocrisy of begging millionaires to return to New York while the new Mayor [Zohran Mamdani] simultaneously says he despises millionaires and supports communism,” he wrote on X. “I wonder why people are flocking to Florida?”

Hochul’s press workplace wasted little time clapping back, responding with a screenshot exhibiting that the state of New York boasts the best quantity of SoulCycle areas. Back in 2017, Portnoy accused his girlfriend on the time, Jordyn Hamilton, of dishonest on him with an teacher who labored on the fitness company.

“Meanwhile she’s begging millionaires like me to come back to New York to pay for communism, hotels for illegals and pedicures for [Mamdani’s] terrorist loving wife’s photo shoots. Be less serious state of NY.”

At the time of the dishonest scandal, Portnoy swiftly capitalized on the incident by promoting t-shirts that includes the title “C—Cycle” on the entrance. Barstool workers moreover started berating SoulCycle online, prompting the company to encourage its trainers to call the police in the event that they felt threatened.

In response, Portnoy wrote: “Best way to avoid calling 911? Don’t have your instructors f— the girlfriend of head of major media company.”
