It’s not just the car you need to protect, though – it’s the driveway too, particularly if it’s made of asphalt. Parking a heavy car on a paved or asphalt drive during a hot sunny day can lead to damage on the driveway.

Hicks Paving says: “Asphalt is comprised of a combine of binder and mixture (stone). When the climate will get extraordinarily sizzling, the binder can dry out and change into brittle.

“This drying out weakens the entire structure of the asphalt, making it more likely to crack and form potholes. As the binder loses its flexibility, the asphalt can no longer hold up well under the pressure of heavy vehicles, leading to more serious damage over time.

“Asphalt naturally expands and contracts with adjustments in temperature. However, in the extreme summer season heat, it may possibly increase an excessive amount of, placing further stress on the pavement.

“Over time, this repeated stress from the excessive heat can cause cracks of different sizes to appear. These cracks can start small, but if left unchecked, they can grow larger and cause more significant problems, like potholes and uneven surfaces.

“Asphalt absorbs a lot of heat from the solar. This could make parked automobiles extraordinarily sizzling, to the purpose the place touching them could be uncomfortable and even painful.
