Emma Raducanu has been advised to reassess her objectives following a lackluster start to the season.

Currently ranked 55th in the world, Raducanu has had a tough time maintaining form in 2025, with a record of 3-6 in matches. The reality of her current performance is sinking in.

Fans of the former world No. 10 and Major champion are now merely hoping for her return to the top 20. Since her groundbreaking U.S. Open win over four years ago, Raducanu‘s best performances have been semi-finals in Seoul in 2022 and Nottingham in 2024.

The 22-year-old has previously been ranked as high as No. 10 in the world, but expectations have diminished after a difficult few years for Raducanu.

According to an Express Sport poll, 47% of readers believe she should aim to return to the top 20. Meanwhile, 43% suggest that winning a title would signify a successful year for the Brit, while 10% believe she should strive for a Grand Slam quarter-final.

After a poor start at Indian Wells, Raducanu admitted: “Yeah, I think I’ll need to improve starting the point. I think that’s a big part of tennis. I think I can do that a lot better. I think I could improve I guess being more aggressive and, like, having a better quality of shot going forward into the court more.

“I think I could improve every area of my game, to be honest after today’s performance. But yeah, I think everything, to be honest.”
