Any manner you cut it, the demonstrations against Hamas within the Gaza Strip are a uncommon and hopeful sign.
Hundreds of Gazans took to the streets Tuesday, and hundreds on Wednesday, to demand Hamas’ ouster — with growing calls on social media to take to the streets to protest the distress the terrorists have introduced.
“Down with Hamas,” they chanted.
“Stop the war.”
“Release the hostages.”

“We want to live.”
So a lot for the fear group’s claims that Gazans long for martyrdom.
Yes, Gazans initially elected Hamas and cheered the terrorists’ Oct. 7, 2023, slaughterfest; some took half in it.
Plenty of civilians confirmed up for Hamas’ merciless hostage-release rallies; probably despise Israel’s existence after many years of propaganda to that impact.
But some are plainly realizing that Hamas isn’t a answer to something.
Its refusal to give up and release the hostages, regardless of all these months of battle and the struggling it inflicts on abnormal Gazans, exposes the terrorists’ contempt for “their” civilians, who tasted peace during the cease-fire.

“Hamas is demanding our people to remain steadfast,” says one protester. But “we’re dying and bleeding.” Hamas should “stop what is happening in Gaza” — “We reject the rule of Hamas.”
Maybe, simply perhaps, abnormal Gazans can help oust Hamas and finish the hell they’ve suffered these long months.
More probably, the terrorists will rush out of their bunkers to slaughter dissenters and stamp out any rebellion.
Perhaps, as half of Israel’s continued stress on Hamas, the IDF will wind up deploying to guard the demonstrations.
And if residents don’t overthrow Hamas themselves, Israel will end the job.
Nothing is assured within the Middle East, of course.
But Israel now has a totally supportive US president within the White House, and Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu stays dedicated to eliminating the terrorist risk.
And now Gazans are beginning to rise up in what might show the start of Hamas’ finish.
